IREP is a local, woman-owned junk removal company in Austin. Most of what we pick up never sees a landfill. If you want a job where the hard work adds up to something, keep reading.

Most of what we haul gets a second life

Every load that leaves a job site gets sorted, not dumped. Furniture and household goods go to Goodwill, St. Vincent de Paul, and our own resale store on South Congress.

 

Building materials go to Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Recyclables go to Austin Resource Recovery. Pet supplies go to Austin Pets Alive. What's genuinely trash goes to the landfill, and we work to make that pile as small as we can.

 

We divert hundreds of tons a year and give back more than 1% of our revenue and labor to local causes. Keep Texas Beautiful, the Texas Environmental Leadership Awards, and Best of ATX have all recognized the work.

We're a team of eleven serving all five Greater Austin counties. Small enough that you'll know everyone's name and they'll know yours. Nobody here is a headcount.

What the job is actually like

We'd rather tell you now than have you find out in week two.

This is physical work. You'll lift heavy, awkward things repeatedly, all day, including through an Austin summer. Starts are early. You'll spend real hours behind the wheel crossing five counties, and you'll be in front of customers on their worst day, standing in a garage they're embarrassed about or a house after someone died.

 

How you treat people in those moments matters as much as how fast you load.

The sorting is not optional and it takes longer than just dumping everything. That's the whole point of us.
